A few tricks how to fix computer for free
Faced with the computer problem?
Sometimes fixing your computer can be easier than deciphering my bizarre ESL poetry, sometimes to fix computer all you need is some simple actions.
Like throwing your PC out the window.
Or you could…
- Restart your computer. Sometimes you can fix computers by just restarting your system. Many application issues and software problems will automatically fix themselves. If your computer is really bad or if your slow computer is now a frozen computer, power down your system and let it sit, turned off, for a minute. Restart your computer, then, and run scan disk.
- Check your computer cables.Sounds more obvious than how fake Posh Spice’s boobs are, right? It’s possible that some of your PC cables got tangled, though, or disconnected, and you didn’t notice. Make sure every computer cord is properly plugged in, and that your PC and its gear is clean - if your mouse is acting slow, see if the mouse ball is dirty. Like your mind.
- Check your PC’s power outlet. Another obvious one, but you’d be surprised how often people assume the worse, most complicated thing has happened when the hooker cat just knocked out the cord. Make sure your electricity outlet is properly working. If the outlet’s acting strange and it has a power switch box, turn off your PC and reset the box.
- Turn off your computer’s extra gear. Disconnect your external hard drive, your scanner, your mouse, your keyboard, and reset your computer. Listen for strange noises, and see if your slow computer speeds up when it’s not connected to any peripheral devices.
- Double check your computer’s wires. Turn off your computer, unplug it, and peek inside your PC. Are all the wires connected? All your cards? Some might need to be reinstalled.
- Locate a missing Windows device.Your computer may be acting slow if it can’t locate a device it needs. If your Windows system can’t find a device - a modem? CD-Rom? - find the device for your PC. Click the Start menu, then Settings, then Control Panel. Select the tab named Device Manager. If you see that your drive has an exclamation mark (!), right-click this drive and delete it. Your system will want to reboot. Just like how you do your chick, give it what it wants, and after you’ve restarted your computer’s system, your broken computer should be a fix computer.
- Uninstall new software.Did you just install new software? Maybe your system isn’t getting along with it. Did you make some other changes to your software? Think back to changes you may have made to your computer before you needed to fix your computer now. If you installed new software and your PC began to slow, uninstall the software and see if that fixes your computer.
- Reinstall Windows. A simple way to fix your computer is to reinstall your Windows system. You don’t need to reformat your computer to fix it with a restinall. Just insert your Windows OS installation CD, double-click “Setup.exe.”
